What an experience. Most of them weren't too bad..but...some parents are out right stubborn. It's really a shame. Stop treating me as if I have no idea what I'm doing. Trust me, I put much thought into things and I always do my best..but I've learned many lessons from this. So thank you, really.
Yes those conferences can be rough. Even as pathfinder leader i have the parents giving me suggestions and I try to accept their ideas, but really all i want is their support and their kids to be disciplined enough to obey me. Keep up the good work....we all know you are putting alot of thought and effort into your teaching, but i think parents get threathened by the teachers sometimes so don't take it too personal. Just keep doing a good job and they will see that. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteSometimes you have to just keep quiet & let them vent, but stand your ground & realize that "they are the ones with the problem". I know you are doing your best & so do the students. Some parents get too hung up on grades......and forget about the learning process. They're really only hurting their own child. Remember you are there to do God's work & HE WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU! If they are teachers, ask them if this is the way "other parents come after you in these conferences"? They should learn the GOLDEN RULE. Ok, sorry to go on & on. I love you dear & am so PROUD of you. XOXOXOXO
ReplyDeleteWaiting for your NOVEMBER posting......we all love to read your stories and see your photos, if you can squeeze in the time between mosquito bites!!!xoxoxo Miss you!
